From a small boy, Fred had witnessed how his brother was ostracised and bullied because he was different. He had also seen the cruelty behind money making ventures involving animals. Horse racing, dog fighting, greyhound racing. He was shocked by the obscenity of people who were cruel to those who didn’t fit the same mold as themselves, as well as the proliferation throughout history of people making money through the infliction of pain on creatures they viewed as simply monetary investments. Fred believed that all animals were sentient emotional beings deserving of respect. His dream was to help create change in the way people treated each other as well as in the way they treated other forms of life on this planet of ours. What better way to do this than by supporting his brother, and by proving that greyhounds deserved respect as well.
